Armstrong, Schultz, Pollard, Biadasz, Ferguson, Bland, Clark… just rattling names the list is prolly bigger, we’ve come a long way since the likes of David Arkin.
:lol Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long, long time.

It's not fair to compare the two without mentioning all of Romo's injuries which kept us from making the playoffs at least once or twice more either in 2008, 2010 or 2013.

It's also not fair when you consider that the Cowboys circa 2016, 2018, 2022 are much better run than they were circa 2006, 2008, 2011, etc., with consistently better rosters outside of one-off's like 2009 or 2014.

With that said, I think Dak is arguably at the same point that Romo was at in 2014 where his experience/knowledge of the game evolved to an elite level while his body was still able to perform. Of course that all went to shit in 2015, and he was a few years older at that point than Dak is now, but luckily I think Dak is at least close to where Romo was in 2014 in terms of everything coming together.

Purdy is the better example but yeah the point is true that draft evaluations are often wrong. It's one of the reasons that having extra picks is such a good idea. Even in the late rounds.

Because too much stock goes into what they do at the combine and how high they can jump or a few extra centimeters of arm length, and not enough stock goes into what's on film and what they did on the field.

I think the injuries are a big thing obviously, but we also can't discount that the vast majority of Romo's career was with inferior coaching.

Dak was on that same path until McCarthy got here. This will be his 5th playoff, 3rd with McCarthy in 4 years.

In his Garrett years, Dak was make one miss one, very similar to Romo under Garret.

I'd love to have seen how Romo would have turned out under a coach like McCarthy.

Probably something similar to Drew Brees, give or take.

Dak, Tua, and Purdy are game managers according to Cam Newtown.

Jesus.

Cam Newton trying to spread his knowledge about the game of football has been breath-taking to watch.

He is a fucking flake. Always has been, always will be.

The dipshit has zero room to suggest he has any skill over any of them.

As throwers of the football, I can tell you that all three of them are well above his level, even at his best ever pure passing moment.

Newton was a runner. Everyone knew it. He was a very primitive passer.

He came pretty close to the pinnacle. Like winning the whole damn thing while being a fraud.

Kind of Hurts-ish. Except that Hurts does not dress in funny clothes.

His MVP season was literally scripted for him and he failed.

That dipshit will be remembered more for dressing like a colorblind, retarded fruitcake than anything having to do with actual NFL level QB play.
He won an NFL MVP Award.

Scoreboard.

You cannot judge him.
