Well, there's also the 65 tackles he has this year. He's no sack machine, but we don't need him for that
You're worried the eagles or steelers will get him? With his pay and recent injury history, they can have him.

This is interesting to me. Pretty much confirms the eye test statistically. The Cowboys are one of the least lucky teams in the league. (And the Eagles are among the luckiest by far.)

That Kelce fumble bailed them out as well. If they would've scored a TD on that drive I don't think the Eagles mount a comeback.

also the strip sack of hurts bounced right to him. In our game they had three (i think) fumbles that they recovered.

worm always turns on that stuff.

The good news is that luck tends to even out over time

Yea it's going to come back to bite them in the playoffs as long as they don't get some charmed bullshit path like last year where they played what amounted to a .500 caliber team in the Giants in the divisional round followed by their NFCC opponent going down to like their 3rd QB by the 2nd quarter.

Even if they're the number 1 seed I don't think they'll make it past the Lions and 49ers, or something of that ilk. I'm not going to say they won't get past us but you have to like our chances against them as at least a tossup, even in Philly.

Reminds me of the 50 ways they lucked out against us as well. I'm not talking officials. I'm talking a TE falling down an inch from the goal line. I'm talking about their fumbles being recovered by their own players. I'm talking Dak stepping out of bounds needlessly on a two point conversion. Just seems like on a number of things that could go either way in a football game, they went the Eagles direction.

Props to them but it will catch up to them eventually.

A lot to luck is being in the right position to benefit from it. Keeping an eye open for fumbles is coaching and awareness.

The defender tackled our TE immediately, he got barely an inch of YAC.

And of all times for Dak's spastic foot placement to bite us-- for all the good he did getting us into position to win, we needed our leader on the field to show the team how to win. That was the worst play of the evening for how it set Dak back when he could have begin building a rep as a clutch winner in big games.

Those two points would have made a pretty massive difference in the end result. It sucks because he didn't need to take that extra step. I'm not buying that fumble recoveries are somehow good coaching. I'm sorry but if your own players fumble the ball 3 times in a game odds are you're not going to recover all 3 of them. That's not good coaching. That's bad ball security.

I think 406 yards to 292 yards tells a pretty big story of that game. The Chiefs outgained them 336 yards to 238 as well. The Eagles got lucky. And I'm not trying to take away from their "big wins" but it reminds me of the Vikings last year. Just lucky. And when that luck shifts suddenly you drop multiple games.

The analytics people have pretty much proven that fumble recoveries are totally due to luck. The Football Outsiders guys even used to have a stat called "fumble luck." If you're much over 50%, you're just lucky, and that luck will eventually even out.

There's an element of luck, but when it keeps happening that's where I pause. I mean their net turnovers are currently at -1, so it can't all be luck. They are getting bounces and also giving them away.

The Eagles are really efficient, especially in the third quarter, and it's consistent.

That said, I fully expected the Eagles to lose and the Chiefs choked it away, just like we did.

IMO the Eagles were most lucky during their 2018 playoff run and especially all those miracle passes working in the Superbowl.

This year, they have built an expectancy that they are going to win, and it's paid off in big games vs Miami, KC, and against us.

When we actually build the same expectations and don't choke away 2-point conversions we should by all rights have scored, then we'll find our luck changes too.

Let's hope it starts evening out for the Eagles quickly. They've also had a pretty tremendous run of luck with injuries. Hopefully both happen at the same time.

By immediately you mean before the ball got there? I guess that could work for every team. Hey guys, just tackle the receivers ahead of time, works every time.
Actually, Schoonmaker just went to the ground short of the goal line. I don't even know if the defender affected the catch, though he did affect ball placement.

Makes one wonder why we run a pattern where we're not in the endzone.

You are probably the only person in the world that sees it this way. Along with a bunch of retarded eagles fans.

It can still be PI regardless of whether he caught the ball or ran the route deep enough. :shrug
