He's what, 81 years old? A slip of the tongue is not that uncommon, especially at that age. And he pretty quickly corrected himself.

He has plenty of other stuff to laugh at him for. This is a non issue.
Actually Jimmy corrected him.
But hey, like you said…he’s 81.

Pet cat alert.

It is kind of cool in an age of NIL millionaires that this guy had to start small and work at a grocery store while playing.

If you are trying to say that 91 Eagles defense was as good as the 85 Bears defense, you're insane.

Sorry it had to be that team, but yeah, they were, by most objective measures... short of playoff success :) .

Statistically only the 2002 Bucs had a better pass defense, and only the 2000 Ravens had a better run defense.

The 1985 Bears in their entirety were the better team by far, but their defense had the benefit of a stud-filled offense too.

Three of the 91 Eagles starting defensive line were All-Pro. I just thank god their offense was hot garbage with Randall Cunningham out for the year game 1, otherwise they probably beat Washington who had nearly as good a defense but a far better offense. Our emerging Cowboys also barely beat that team late in the year... after they crushed us 24-0 to start out.

I take 4 of the 5 pro-bowlers from that Eagles D... Eric Allen, Seth Joyner, Jerome Brown, Clyde Simmons, and Reggie White over the 85 Bears' 5 pro-bowlers Mike Singletary, Dave Duerson, Otis Wilson, Dan Hampton, and Richard Dent. The best Bear was Singletary, and he can't hold a candle to White. Not on his best day.

I'd take Singletary over Joyner, though, because of his leadership.

Eagles allowed an insane 3.9 yards per play and the Bears 4.4. Bears forced 54 turnovers, Eagles 48. Just imagine if the Eagles had a QB, for a while they were on their 3rd string guy!

Yeah, assuming he has to go through waivers, no one will claim him. No one is paying that.

I did not know this...

If a player is categorized as a “veteran,” they skip the waiver process and become unrestricted free agents. However, after the trade deadline passes on Nov. 2, vested veterans will have to go through waivers if released.

Eagles or Steelers will grab him.

We are "good with who we got"

It sounds like Leonard was mad that he wasn't getting more playing time and may even have asked for his release. I don't think he'd get more playing time here and I'm not sure I'd want him to at the expense of Bell or Clark. So he might not want to come here.

*"This guy has been angry in recent weeks, angry and frustrated and even heartbroken – his words, not mine – with the way the Colts have (not) been using him this season.
Shaquille Leonard insists he’s ready for more snaps, more of a role. That’s what he’s been saying for two weeks, when he’s not darting out of the locker room before the media can assemble around him. "*

Yeah apparently two back surgeries ago. I'm sure he would be up to LVE levels but he obviously has lost a lot to the injuries. Much like LVE has.
Was a big high school star not far from me in Lakeview SC
