Why would Jerry even come out and say that? Does he think that's going to bring those phone calls that he has been waiting by the phone for? Like a teenage girl pouting after a first date waiting for the guy to call her and he just never does.

I feel like our offense has lived or died by this all year except yesterday. We haven't been aggressive passing the ball on first and second down. It's always run the ball, maybe run it again and then hope the pass bails us out on third down.

We need to come out aggressive on offense against the Eagles. Too big of a game to sit on our hands and hope they fuck up.

It's actually not bad to say. We've probably been talking with teams that are hoping we're desperate and asking way too much. So saying this publicly is sending a message that we're not desperate and we're ok not making a trade, so if another team wants to trade with us their offer better be reasonable.

Tennessee just did the same thing and a lot of teams do it.

And he's not wrong.

The worst thing we can do is a Joey Galloway, WR Roy Williams, or God forbid Herschel Walker type of trade. We're better off standing pat or doing something small than doing something like that.

Agreed. I've been saying for a while we need to open up the offense. I feel like we thought we were a running team and maybe we reevaluated during the bye and realized we're not.

This is what I've been trying to say, and I feel dirty defending Jerry.

But this is standard lip service from teams. It means almost nothing other than we don't like the offers that have been on the table and we're sending the message that we're fine doing nothing so the deal better improve or there's no trade happening.

That's very true. He's the best option but I'd bet there are several guys available who would be good enough for what we need. I'd rather do the latter than overpay for Henry.
 
what are some realistic defensive players we could trade for. targeting edge or LB
