If this is Steeles deal, I hate to think what happens when its Micahs turn.

Why? I don't think that's a bad deal at all.
just based on size (so to speak), it seems big, especially for Steele's rough start.
I think Parsons will eclipse TJ Watt, Joey Bosa and Mayles Garrett's deals .

Parsons will easily be the highest paid defensive player in history if he wants it.

I dunno man, I question player's desire to really win if they squeeze every cent they can out of a capped league. I mean, if there were no cap, yes, by all means get every penny you can, but there is a cap. And we are already kinda hamstrung being forced to pay above market value for a good, not great QB.

I don't blame them one bit for trying to get every cent they can. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

Mack got 6/141 several years ago. That contract is probably "outdated" now, but what would be wrong with Parsons taking that? He could get more, but it's not about tomorrow isn't promised at the numbers we're talking. It's already generational wealth.

It's all about guarantees anyway. Parsons is one of the few guys I'd be ok with giving a high guarantee if a team discount is attached.

There’s more to life than money. Where you spend your prime is very possibly where you will live or at least spend a lot of time in. Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, all still reside in the Dallas area.

You want to spend your time there… or like, Philadelphia? St Louis? San Francisco? Etc.

Would you rather have $120m and a permanent connection to Dallas, or $140m and a permanent connection to Baltimore?

so basically 60 bucks and a manicure, or 70 bucks and herpes?

Lamb is probably last in line for an extension right now because he's under control for 2024 at a very reasonable price. Steele and Diggs would've been UFA's while Prescott has an untenable cap hit, so those should be the priorities.

I'd even throw Biadasz in there although I wouldn't be shocked if they considered franchising him.

Yup.

It's the country's most-watched and most lucrative sport and yet it's also the one where the players are paid the least and the only one where guaranteed contracts are scarce.

These guys should be getting every possible dime that they can while they can.

It's hilarious that Jerry really thinks if he'd called the Niners back in five or ten minutes, someone else would have snapped up Lance.

If Jerry weren't offering way more than the next bidder, they wouldn't have done the deal with Jerry on the spot.
