One of the more interesting things that came out of the podcast is that he already has an age in mind when he wants to walk away from football. He didn't mention the number but he said he's already told his agent that once he his that age he's done.

Yea my takeaways are that this guy is a competitive genius, and the other is that I think there's a very real chance that he takes a slight discount if it means keeping some of the pieces around him on defense.

The way he talks I wouldn't be shocked if he took a huge discount on his third deal after his big extension if he hasn't won a Super Bowl yet.

Great Micah Parsons interview on The Pivot podcast.

If the Cowboys had 50 other guys on the roster with his mindset and work ethic, they'd absolutely be playing in the Super Bowl. He'd fit right in with that 90s group of Cowboys.
Gehlken said on the Ticket the other day that the biggest untold story of camp is that their best player has taken one of the biggest jumps forward on the entire team.

He's going to be incredible this year.

Micah got me hype and drinking the Kool-Aid. I don't buy jerseys anymore, but I might go out and get me a Parsons t-shirt.

He's definitely my favorite player on the team right now.

So I think we should probably assume that age is on the earlier side. Fair enough but that's likely to be one of those early surprising retirements then.

This is the first time he's trained as a full time edge rusher so I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a significant jump.

He's been raping Tyron with regularity.

The hand use he spoke about in the interview stuck out as well, the ability to marry up your hands and feet is what really sets the elite rushers apart, particularly those on the smaller side like he is. It's probably the main reason that he'll take another leap beyond where he is now.

I wouldn't be surprised with a historic first 2/3 of the season only to tail off again when it counts because he is too small to rush full time.

He was really good in the playoffs last year, they definitely have to be mindful of limiting the wear and tear on him but he was ready to go last playoffs. Thankfully we have plenty of depth on the edge so it shouldn't be an issue if the coaches are smart about it.

With a player of his build and how hard he plays, he is going to wear down.

He faded down the stretch (not that he sucked or anything) and it was clear that he needed more rest late in the year.

It is okay for him to take a few downs off or pull him out of a game that is out of hand.

There's literally no excuse when we have guys like Williams and Fowler as our 4th and 5th edge rushers, the coaches left him out there late in blowouts for no reason last year and hopefully they'll be mindful of it this year.

We know Parsons probably bitches about coming out but his time needs to be managed better.

This preparation method/mindset is the complete opposite of Micah.

Tolbert is translating his skills as an artist to improve his game whereas Micah got involved in boxing to improve his close combat skills and sought out one of the better OL of the past generation to improve his skills as a pass rusher.

Like I said earlier......if only we had 50 other players with his mindset.
