I'm glad Belt and Co are so excited by this hire. :jerk

My question: how do these people actually affect what we do? I bet anyone would be hard pressed to truly answer that question.

If I had to guess they probably act as advisors without any real decision making power. So they may advise the FO not to spend beyond X amount on a RB extension due to historical production past age Y, or they might give the coaching staff a brief each week on the tendencies of the upcoming opponent, stuff along those lines without any actual authority.

That's what I would think, that it's more about scouting reports or positional value in the draft. But I'd bet money the coaches already know this.

Did anyone watch that presentation? I couldn't be less impressed, other than it took quite a bit of grunt work. But like the one chart, did y'all know Dak is efficient but mostly on short passes while Mahomes completes passes down the field? Wow, what insight!

I'm not saying these hires hurt anything - it's just Jerry's money - but I'm very skeptical they actually, materially, help teams win games.

And lastly... My god that Gen z squeaky female voice and constant giggling is irritating on what is supposed to be a fairly serious academic presentation.

I doubt that these analytics people have deep football knowledge, they're basically software developers/data scientists who probably impress the crusty football types with their fancy charts and shit.

I also doubt that they have a significant voice in anything, more of an advisor who might serve as a sanity check of sorts.

Yeah she is a stats nerd. I got that from watching 1 minute or less of her presentation.

This would be a good time to remember Salam Qureishi. All of this is just a natural extension of what he did.

I forgot to get on Twitter and post about what a great hire this is.

So, Deion may possibly lose his foot. Sucks, man.
