2023 Free Agency Thread

Yep. Aside from T.O. for a couple years, he’s the closest we’ve had to an alpha WR since Irvin.

he lacked the maturity and football IQ to be truly great. But you have to admire his toughness and his intensity

Whoa.

I guess they believe this will make Jackson feel motivated?

further proof that Lamar should get an agent

I bet Jackson stupidly views this as a plus.

Then again his whole contract squabble has been about guaranteed money and they give a gimp that kind of simple cash?

That whole thing just ain't gonna work.

Dez had his own issues, no doubt. But he wasn’t even half the diva and idiot that this clown is. I’d take Dez every day and twice on Sundays over him.

I totally agree. Dez had real heart. I loved the guy and frankly still do. In his prime he was an absolute beast.

Yup.

I don't think Dez gets enough credit for how good he was in his prime around here nor did people appreciate his attitude and leadership ability.

He is the closest thing we've had to a Michael Irvin presence on the sideline.

He is literally the only player I can remember since Irvin that used to walk around the sideline trying to motivate and fire up players on both sides of the ball.

Dez's problem was that he wasn't a great natural receiver -- he was 80% athleticism. So when his body started breaking down, he didn't have other things he could lean on to make up for what he losing athletically.

Still, he was an outstanding player for 4 years and I miss having him around.

Dez got a bad rap for his passion on the sidelines. It was viewed as anger. It wasn’t most of the time. It looked like it from a TV screen but he was actually just trying to fire people as much as he was.

Still think Dez got the raw end of the deal at the end of his tenure here. Had he not rightly called out the offense being too predictable, he likely doesn't get cut. Wasn't he also willing to take a pay cut to stay in Dallas after 2017?

He was done. We cut ties at the right time.
