2022 Cowboys Preseason Week 2 Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Chargers | 08/20/22

The Great Sam Howell has directed the Washington Football Team to their first touchdown of the contest. [/SMITTY]

Players I would hope show out tonight:

1. Jalen Tolbert - That guy has to do better than he did last week. Yeah yeah, QBs and all, last I saw every team has shitty backups and you see rookie WRs making plays.

2. KaVontae Turpin - It would be nice to see something from him other than fair catching punts and downing kickoffs.

3. DaRon Bland - Leave him out there all night. Let him grow and prosper.

4. Israel Mukuamu - Time for the Muk to be left outside as a cornerback.

5. Peyton Hendershot - I dunno, he looks interesting.

I am not holding out hope for guys like Kelvin Joseph, Nahshon Wright and Josh Ball.

I don't think they can play.

I want to see Grier kick Rush's ginger ass to the curb.

Also it would be nice for everyone's favorite Neck Breaker to do something. I did think he looked better in the little they showed of the defensive practice the other day. I'd like for the coaches to have enough trust to go with Bohanna and him and let Watkins go.

Oh yeah, Grier is a biggie. However, I think the idea that he is truly in a competition for the backup role is mostly media-created.

I am at the stage that if the QB class is thick enough next year, to take a Malik Willis-type in the 3rd or 4th.

You can gameplan for a dork like Rush for a game. But two? Three? More? Forget it.

And don't give me that ol' if the QB goes down, so does the season.

We did that shit with Romo and look what it got us?

Willis with another nice pass, then gets caught on 3rd and long for a long loss trying to buy time instead of throwing it away.

Regardless, this kid has some talent

This Bucs/Titans game is a colossal bore.

I hope I don't drift off to sleep before kickoff.

Gilbert, Gabbert. It's all relative.
No, it is not. Unless you just look at all white untalented QBs and think they have the same name.

Gabbert isn't even a damned Ginger.

Anyone watching the pregame? Freaking Jerry. When he's being interviewed he loves looking into the camera instead of the people he's talking to. So weird. That little bit of toupee hanging on is a weird color, too.

He actually said maybe Dak is so good he's the kind of QB who doesn't need a #1 star type WR. :doh Was 2018 that long ago?
