I don't think Savage actually scored a TD on that play. Looks like he dropped the ball right before crossing the goal line.

If you're talking about that JSmith post from yesterday evening I should get a pass. I'm in my office and they have YouTube and certain other sites blocked, so all I see is a massive UNAUTHORIZED SITE/CONTENT banner.

Historically a lot the Dakota fans have stayed at a hotel that is verty close to where I live. A few times I mixed and mingled with them. They are a pretty loyal group.

I read a different article about all the recruits who lost their scholarships and offers to attend Colorado and people were bitching about Deion "screwing over the kids". They whined that Deion was pulling offers from players who committed months ago so close to signing day.

My thing is this. How is pulling a player's scholarship offer any different from when players who committed months in advance change their minds and decide to attend a different school at the 11th hour?

If this were 10 years ago I'd feel some compassion for them but in today's CFB landscape there is practically no loyalty from either side. Everyone just hops around to the highest bidder or to places that provide guaranteed playing time. It's become a sport of "every man for himself" where practically everyone is out for their own self-interests.

That's not necessarily a bad thing but it does come at a cost. Like that lost connection with the community/fan base.
 
I don’t get how Sanders shouldn’t have the right to rescind. He has a program to build.
 
He has the right like they all do, but in the past it's been bad form to just throw these kids out the second you find someone better. There is supposed to be some kind of commitment there. The kids are sold a certain vision for their futures and their educations and in a second that all changes.

But it's practically a pro league now with all the NIL stuff so people like Deion are treating it that way. The players are just commodities to be replaced at any time.

Pretty sad where college football is, really. Players always got paid under the table, at least the better ones, but now there's less and less connection to the school, as 1bigfan said.

The NIL and transfer portal things were huge mistakes.

I want to see them limit the number of penalty free transfers.

My suggestion is give players one free transfer where they're able to transfer elsewhere and play immediately. After that if they transfer again they have to sit out a year like in the old days.

I really wish we could go back to that. College football was always more fun to me because it was still pure. It is far from pure now.
