What's weird is we have beaten them a few times in Austin in that timeframe.I was surprised to hear that yesterday's win was the first vs Texas in Lubbock since that 2008 game.

Yeah, I know. That's why hearing that was the first win in Lubbock since 2008 was so surprising, because I knew you guys have beaten them about 4 or 5 times since then. What's weird is we have beaten them a few times in Austin in that timeframe.
I'm kidding. I don't have any delusions of grandeur for this season, but one thing I really do like about McGuire is his teams absolutely do not give up. Yesterday we were down by 13 at one point against a top 25 team, and came back and beat that ass.
Same thing happened against Houston. Down in the second half and did not give up. Came back and won the game. We may not win a ton of games with McGuire, but it will be fun to watch.
I am hopeful we will as well. It certainly has started well. I just love the way he coaches. He went for it 8 times on 4th down yesterday and only failed twice. It shows his players how much he believes in them, and in the process they play very hard for him and never give up.Oh I think we will win a ton of games with him. His recruiting ability is spot on and winning these kind of games will only help.
I love this dude.
He is an amazing player's coach. On top of being a great recruiter, he absolutely has the players' buy-in. And that is half of what it takes to be a great coach. And, he just does it naturally.I am not all that familiar with McGuire, but if you don't watch that and just listen, he sounds a little like Jimmah.
