Interesting, another double tag. Considering it will eat19,351,200 of already tight cap space it might mean Tomlinson is gone, maybe a Packer. There is no incentive for Williams to rush to sign a deal before FA hits, he kind of controls Tomlinson’s fate.

In fact the Giants have to clear at least 3mil more room when the rule of 51 ends and FA starts as it is just to accommodate the tag.

Williams has to sign quickly enough and they have to clear even more room to tag Tomlinson— that’s not going to work. Basically they have to have another deal on deck ready to pitch to Tomlinson the moment they sign Williams for real, and all he has to do is stall and become a full FA.

They can't tag Tomlinson now. That deadline has passed I thought.
