I saw a different interview with him where he said he was different from most young QBs in that he could always see the whole field, make reads, etc. but his problem was his mechanics were so bad he couldn't get the ball where he wanted it to go. That why you heard about the endless hours working on his mechanics with David Lee, throwing the ball into the couch cushions, never taking a day off from throwing in the offseason, etc.I watched the Graham Basinger(sp?) interview with Romo recently again, and the one thing that really struck me as sad was the fact that his body broke down at the exact point that the game slowed way down for him.
He commented that he knew what was happening before it happened. I didn’t quite get that when I initially watched the interview, but it’s evident in the way he predicts plays during broadcasts.
It’s weird how that happens at different points in a QBs career. Manning seemed to play most of his career with that on his side, Brady probably has been playing with that knowledge for 10 years now. It’s just sad that his body completely broke down when he felt like everything was coming together.
Of course he got better later in his career as he saw more looks, understood what defenses were doing to confuse him, etc. But thought that was interesting.
