It is official now. TBH I am shocked at the competence of the staff being out in place. The DC a will have an uphill battle to turn around the recent history and culture of churning out poor defenses. If this dude and recruiting can get Tech in the top 3rd of the Big 12 in the next few years it will be an accomplishment.

Hey, @skidadl, check this thing out that someone else that isn't you posted.

So you no wikey hire?

I realize now you might be asking about the recruit. That kid is a damn stud.
Not trying to be an asshat, but it is pretty rare that the stud HS kid turns out to be a talented pro.

I do believe that about 25% of the NFL a starters are from Texas. So you seek to be wrong.

At least for me the fact that Tech is in the running for a player this highly ranked is enough to give hope for me. I fully expect the money at Texas to win out so not really expecting a Tech signing. Jist love the new energy the new staff is bringing despite being in a conference that is/will be inferior.

Tech is about to flip a badass DL here shortly as well. Also, a few players from Oregon voile possibly come. Dis gon be gud.

Good. It’s the right move. The NFL should address this preemptively.

I agree that it’s appropriate to eliminate it, but I still contend that it was a brilliant move on his part. He knew the rules, and had the mental acuity to exploit them in that specific moment. He deserves credit for that. It was a very smart play.

It’s like all the crap Belichik pulls. It is within the rules. Doesn’t make it right. Just means they are the first person/team to take
Advantage of it.

That’s always the dilemma between what people consider ethical and appropriate vs what’s within the rules. Personally, I believe in doing whatever it takes to win as long as the rules allow it.

I know that he’s just a punter, but San Diego State’s Matt Araiza can kick the living fuck out of a football.
