The Big 12 does suck. There will still be football player though so we aren’t talking about a total collapse of football overnight.

It has not been decided. Nobody knows because the kid is paying is closed to the vest. By all accounts he heavily favors Tech but UT appears to be coming with serious money.:shrug:shrug
 
We have reason to believe that Texas Tech offensive coordinator Zach Kittley will be conducting an in-home visit with Ohio State transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers tonight. OrangeBloods.com is reporting that Ewers will be visiting Texas this weekend and hopes to have a decision made by Monday.

I know it wont collapse but the lure of going to the top conferences is going to be greater than going to the WAC. Even if they don't get to play right away.

I fully expect classes full of 3 star sprinkled with a few 4 star Texas recruits. That’s just fine for winning a decent amount of games. McGuire has already pumped up the recruiting a ton and almost has a full class of salty players. I know you’re just being your typical pessimistic self but the class already looks pretty good so I’m not sure what you’re complaining about.

Not complaining about Tech or McGuire at all. I'm still salty about the conference thing. All happening because Texas wouldn't share revenue and yet now they are going to have to. I think we are stuck in an inferior situation thats going to make it harder than it was to recruit top players.
 
Very happy with this hire. It's not outside the realm of possibilities that we end up better off.

It is official now. TBH I am shocked at the competence of the staff being out in place. The DC a will have an uphill battle to turn around the recent history and culture of churning out poor defenses. If this dude and recruiting can get Tech in the top 3rd of the Big 12 in the next few years it will be an accomplishment.
