I don't know, maybe. It was a good run up to that point as it is though, and he's asking for a concussion next time he runs because no one will believe him if he goes to slide.

Which is fine. Let him get a concussion. A potential future injury has no bearing on the fact that he caused defenders to literally freeze in place which allowed him to score. That decision was brilliant, regardless of what may or may not happen in the future. None of that takes away from what he did on Saturday.

Disagree.

Those defenders were caused to 'literally freeze' because of all the pussified rules in place to protect QBs. It wasn't a great football play. It was exploiting the rules. That fake slide was a chickenshit move that they need to take out of the game, or let these guys actually start tackling QBs again when they're in the open field.

Exploiting rules is smart football. You use whatever you can to your advantage, pussified rules or otherwise. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t negate how smart he was to use it in that situation. I don’t give a fuck whether it’s “chickenshit” or not. It resulted in a fucking touchdown and made the defense look stupid. Give credit where credit is due. It was a smart, heads up play.

Woohoo. A token defensive player who’ll end up last in the voting because the Heisman really isn’t awarded to the best player in college football, anymore. It’s awarded to the best offensive skill position player.

File under - but why?

Steve Wiseman of the News & Observer reports that Garrett is a candidate for Duke’s head coaching job. Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott and Texas A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko also are on the school’s radar.

The Blue Devils and Cutcliffe parted ways Nov. 28 after 14 seasons. Cutcliffe went 77-97 with six bowl appearances.

Garrett was fired before completing his second season with the Giants.

He became the Cowboys’ interim head coach in 2010 before earning the full-time job. The Cowboys did not renew his contract after the 2019 season.

He has never coached at the collegiate level.

I'm stunned anyone would consider him for any coaching job.
