I hate fat Pat from a personal stand point. He’s a good coach but the game has passed him by.

Nothing gospel but interesting nonetheless.

It sounds like Texas Tech is interviewing SMU head coach Sonny Dykes sometime today.

... Don't be surprised if there are conversations between Baylor associate head coach Joey McGuire and Texas Tech this week, if they haven't happened already.

... Louisiana-Lafayette head coach Billy Napier, Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze and Oklahoma defensive coordinator Alex Grinch are also names to monitor.

... Mississippi State coach Mike Leach is in play.

... Texas Tech is willing to pay in the $5 million range for its next head coach if the right candidate emerges as a front-runner.

Good god.

I’d bet at least $50 that Sonny Dykes goes to TCU. Tech is about to Tennessee this entire deal.

The big moment donors are ready to shell out 5 million per for the right candidate.

I don’t even know anymore.

Gimme Joey McGuire

FWIW, Leach currently makes $5 million at Mississippi State and has bonuses worth more.

Its probably not the right thing to do but I would love to have Leach back.

Would he come back, though? I thought he was mad about them owing him money.

If I were you guys I think I'd just go for Sonny. He's obviously a very good coach and it seems like he'd stay there.

Not sure but if they donors want it then that will happen.

Wouldnt mind Sonny. Loved Spike when he was here as well.

Not me but I wish I did. I have been in the McGuire train since last season when it looked like Wells wasn’t going to make it.

I’m convinced that he is the kind of dude that is needed.

I didn't know much about him but after reading his resume is intriguing. The people that I have seen mention him have great things to say.

Sign me up for that train ride.

I guess the playoff committee has lost sight of what a tournament does to determine a champion. It has supposedly been in process for several weeks now and should have aligned the seeding with the games a team has won. That is the tournament process. The committee just dropped the tournament process and fell back to the subjective decisions of what they think teams are be seeded. It’s ridiculous. .

Once people get power they hate to give it up

I don't have a problem with Oklahoma being #8. That's the ranking they earned through sloppy play and close wins vs some of the worst teams in the country.

The committee has always said their goal was to put the 4 best teams in the playoffs regardless of record. So they really aren't falling back on subjective decisions because the subjective rankings never went away.

It'll all sort out in the end. Every year everyone gets worked up over the first couple of committee rankings and every year except for 2014 things get sorted out on the field and there's not a lot of argument about the 4 teams who made the playoffs.

I will say our unlikely win vs Bama is a reason for expanding the playoffs even more. It adds to the "any given Sunday" threat tho I know the playoff committee will fight to the death to keep their influence
