2020 Training Camp Thread

minor? always assume the worst with this team

Aldon Smith is only five practices into his comeback with the Cowboys after not playing since 2015 but is enjoying everything about being back after off-field problems derailed his career. “I don’t know if I told any of the guys, but I was thinking in my head, it’s been a long road, being back on the field after that much time off was a blessing and it was a little surreal,” Smith said of his Day 1 thoughts. “But I was very prepared and excited to go out there and put things together.”

Everson Griffen anticipates being close to a full practice by Sunday as he works his way into Cowboys training camp after a 10-year run with Minnesota. “(Mike) McCarthy’s way of coaching and his scheme, made me come to the conclusion that I want to be here,” he said. “And what I’m seeing from him now is above and beyond what I can even ask for going into my 11th year. I’m just blessed to be here, blessed to be under his staff and the only thing I want to do is win games. That’s what it’s about.”

Not with a proven vet like Zuerlein.

But I was shocked that they decided to cut Forbath so soon. Especially since Forbath performed great for us at the end of last season. Maybe there were some "off the record" kicking competitions were going on between the two during shutdown. :shrug
I think it was mainly because of the need to trim roster size because of this covid bullshit. And also maybe to give Forbath plenty of time to try and find another team, considering they were probably about 99.99% sure Zuerlein would be the kicker coming out of a competition.

That tweet is literally 2 posts above yours. Get your shit straight, boozeman.

Ive been worried about him for awhile now. We may have to start welfare check-ins soon.

One thing I've noticed from some of these tackling drills is they look like they're being taught to wrap and roll their bodies through the tackle, which I think is very smart because if you just try to power through a ball carrier they can shrug you off, run through you or absorb the blow/maintain balance and then keep going.

If you wrap and roll your body you're impacting their balance with your body's momentum and slowing them down even further.

Two of our biggest weaknesses on defense last year (lack on turnovers and poor tackling) hopefully get fixed this year. Those two improvements alone will make this defense 10 times more valuable to the success of the team.

Fuck that. Drag him out behind the barn and hit him in the head with a rock. Dig a hole and push him in before he starts stinking.

Life goes on.
So hateful. But accurate. I accept accountability for being lazy.

Rams fans have been calling him that for years.

En garde.
He got injured with the Rams. You want to keep that albatross over his head?
