2020 Season | Week 2 | Gameday Chatter | Falcons at Cowboys | 9/20/2020

Honest question, why was that horrible. You trail by 15. You either go for two then or you go for two on your next posession. Don't you want to know the two is going to fail sooner rather than later? Otherwise the game likely ends with a failed 2 point attempt.

I never understood the concept of waiting to try the two in that situation. You're literally banking on getting it at the end of the game just to have a shot at overtime. Go for it earlier and you can manage the clock knowing you either have it or you don't.

For team morale.

The team thinking they just need one stop to have a chance is way different than thinking you need a stop, a score, then an onside kick recovery.

You extend the game for as long as you can and they didn't do that there.

Sorry I would have gone for it up front too. Makes more sense.

It makes way more logical sense. Know you need 3 scores instead of banking on two scores and screwing yourself when the 2 point fails. I just don't get the concept of waiting to go for 2 at all. You've limited the potential ways to win. Which means you're less likely to win.
