My bad. I thought it was another charming, yet simultaneously condescending DCC post that we get when another has effed up or done something stupid.

I thought I was taking it in stride. Now I just feel like Coach Tabasco.

I have not boycotted the NFL, but I know a lot of folks who have.

We thought maybe they weren't making an impact, but shit like this leads me to believe they may be doing more than we realized.

Not sure the Nick thing is an indication because they're always going to try to grow the customer base even if they're doing well, but I have no doubt people have stopped watching because of the politics or whatever. People always say, "You're lying, you say that but you won't stop watching" but I don't believe that. We're all pretty hard core on here, but there are tons of casual fans who don't need to be outraged to lose interest. It just takes a little push.

I know because I'm that way with the NBA. Been a Thunder fan since they got to town but now I don't care. It's not that I'm stomping my feet and thinking I'm making some huge statement, it's that I don't care to follow it anymore.

I'd never let my child watch that abomination. I'd put on the real game and watch with them. But I guess there is some kid whose parents don't watch football that may stumble upon it and fall in love with the game.

I lived and breathed baseball until the mcgwire bonds sosa shit and haven't been back.

A couple live games here and there, but I dont know any of the players.

Really, why is that? You didn't like them getting busted, or thought the league knew all along, or what?

To be quite honest, I don't recall what the final straw was.

I guess that MLB let it go on when everyone knew they were juiced. It seemed like they allowed it to get folks excited about baseball and to me it just killed my desire to stay tuned in. I was a kid in the 80s and while I was a fan of the Cubs, really enjoyed watching any and every game I could. We had one of those big rotating satellite dishes with a descrambler box so I could watch just about any team play. Loved playing and pitching myself, so enjoyed watching the pros in their approach to the game. It seemed genuinely competitive and I know there was steroids involved back then. 98 just seemed like MLB was becoming more like WWF, which I was also a fan of...but it didn't need to be that.

Went through the same deal with NASCAR as well, used to love going to the races and kept up with it as much as I could. That sport has been totally transformed and I don't care to watch anymore.
