I like Moore. I don't think it is crippling, but he would be missed. It all depends on what the contingency is.

If it is just McCarthy as OC...

I don't know. His inexperience shows a lot whenever we go against quality DCs who actually have several years of coaching experience under their belt.

In a normal year, I'd be more concerned with not looking at DTs in the first couple rounds. But not this year. The top talent is pretty thin, with nobody jumping out as a must have. I will not be upset if we wait until the 3rd-4th round to look at one. I'd rather dip into FA to fill next year and give Gallimore and Hill another chance to show they deserve to stay, then think longterm at the top of the 2022 draft if need be.
I'd be okay with that. I just don't want Hill returning from injury to be their "upgrade" at DT. Jerry's used that logic in the past under similar situations.

True, the DT crop sucks. But I would definitely look at FA. Thing is, we don't look at FA when we think that there is "potential".

We just refuse to go after a real difference-maker at NT.

I really hope he's just speaking for himself and that the coaches don't view DT as a non-issue.

I don't know what it is about these goofs that makes them blind to the issues at both DT and S. We've been so bad in both areas for so long and yet they just will not invest any real resources into improving those areas of the team.

It's just an endless combination of 5th round picks and over the hill bargain buys.
It is frustrating, but it was just 10 years ago that we used to complain that they didn't value OL and hadn't invested a 1st rounder there in forever.

What I'm saying is, come 2047 or so Jerry will have this whole football team architecture thing nailed down.

That's actually decent news.

We don't want to have two new coordinators next year.

Plus I think Moore is still growing into the job and can get even better.
Agreed, let's worry about fixing the pitiful defense before worrying about "fixing" an offense that Dak has grown into.

Way off the subject but ....
I'm sitting here watching the 93' NFCC rematch game vs. the Niners.
Sometimes you have to dust off an oldie when we haven't done a damn thing in a quarter century.
We were incredibly talented all the way around. And Aikman's accuracy was unbelievable. Effortless and dead center 🎯

There is something to be said for having that continuity in place. Having a revolving door at offensive coordinator is one of the common themes that comes up when discussing why a particular QB is struggling.

I just hope Jerry isn't thinking of another Head Coach in Waiting situation with this.
