what the fuck are you doing in pre-game warmups to strain a hammy? stretching?

I can so see it. We do enough to get in position to command draft picks but no trade happens because we have already telegraphed our intentions.

It won't really matter if we're sitting in front of a QB needy team, like if we're sitting at 2 with Jacksonville at 3 teams are going to want to get in front of Jacksonville one way or the other.

Same thing if we're sitting at 5 and the Skins are at 6, if there is a clear 3rd QB teams are after they'll want to jump the Skins.

I agree that it's completely idiotic for them to just come out and admit stuff like this, even if it's something they've been doing for years, but the only way it really matters is if we're in a bit of a gray area without clear QB-needy teams right behind us. It's very possible that happens but I don't think we're going to get a bounty if we're sitting at like 7, whereas if we're sitting at 2-4 the position will dictate a bounty one way or the other.

?

the fact that we are committed to Dak will not stop other teams from trying to leapfrog other QB hungry teams for our pick
Hell, I would think they would be even more open to talking because they know we aren't taking a QB and might require less picks to drop.

I guess it would hurt us if the team behind us is wanting to move up they won't even make the call because they know we aren't taking a QB.

also, how far are we willing to drop? what if Chicago calls, offering the 16th pick and other goodies?

That type of move, if we are in the top 5, would net us a king's ransom. I would do it.

I'd need literally their whole draft plus next year's 1+2 and their 1 the year after, assuming we were picking at like 5.

there's no Aaron Donald or Cortez Kennedy waiting for us at #5, so anything's possible

aren't we projected to have nine picks next April? if we do that deal, are we seriously gonna draft 15 players? not that I'm against it, btw. i could cut 15 guys from our current roster without blinking.

Not if they're afraid that another team would trade into that spot instead. Look at Chicago with Trubisky.

The Goff/Wentz draft everyone knew those picks were for sale and it didn't matter.

True that.

Yes, you either take 15 of use some picks to move up. You have a high second round pick. Maybe you move up to get 2 first rounders. Or whatever. The late first in this draft may be a great spot for a LBer or DT or safety. Hell late first is almost always a great safety spot.

Yeah wanting a QB would only cause a team to try and jump us for a QB. Doesn't help us trade down at all. Not wanting a QB however means teams wanting one will look at us as open for business.
