I just want an actual safety. Not a 30 something position change.

He played safety last year, so not quite a position change.

I'm big on "availability being the best ability".

He's a solid vet who knows coaches and QBs tendencies. I'd consider this a solid signing.

I don't agree that availability is the best ability (I mean, I'm available). But it is important. Supposedly he wasn't bad at safety last year although I have to admit I didn't really pay attention. He's depth though and he's always been solid. His biggest sin was his contract, which won't be a problem this time.

I know I'm in the minority but I honestly don't care if Gregory ever plays football again. I've gotten used to not having him around.

Same here. If you net out what he has actually accomplished for the team he is really not a contributor

The nephews are well grown up now, and their acid burns are healed. We have to get past that.
