C-Rock is on the right track mathematically.

Based on drafted positions in 2019, taking seriously McCarthy’s claim he’ll value talent over scheme, assuming no offensive positions besides WR (or TE) would be considered, and that all positions are equally talented:

28 WRs
16 TEs
19 S
32 CB
12 DE
19 EDGE
21 DT
25 LB

44/173= 25.4% in each round of the most talented player that falls to Dallas being a WR or TE. 74.6% chace it’s not a WR for 7 rounds is .746**7= 12.86% chance.

Factoring only WRs it’s 28/157=18%, or 82% chance it’s not a WR each round. .82**7 = 25% chance no WR ever falls to Dallas over 7 rounds.
