I’d have to go back and watch again. I don’t recall being upset about that play. It was the long pass where he was uncovered and gave up on the play. If I remember correctly

Yep.

Ditto. I remember it was 4th qtr and a deep pass down the near sideline going TV left-to-right

No you people were mad about that too. The long pass was primary.

But people were just burying Crayton and basically stated that he cost us two TDs.

In reality, he didn't cost a single one.

well someone definitely fucked up on the last drive of the game. Romo thought he was doing a straight go route and Crayton did a stutter step of sorts which cost them an easy TD.

This one, no? Even Brad Sham talking about Crayton pulling short the route. Was there more than one?

Looks like you're right. Damn, it sure seems like it was more towards the middle of the field.

Can we stop talking about that game. Who fucking started this?

To not go postal, I have to keep telling myself we wouldn’t have beat the Patriots anyway.

Or to borrow Schmitty’s logic, best case scenario we lost this game, setting off the chain reaction or else we wouldn’t have Mike McCarty now.

Crayton appeared to give up on the route and missed the ball by less than a foot.

Sucks that we had to depend on a 7th round pick as one of our primary wideouts, but Crayton had two hugely negative plays that game and that one being the biggest.

What about the goddamned refs calling Ware offsides setting up 3rd and 1 when he was so quick it only looked like he was offsides. Then Amari Toomer blowing up the secondary on one play on the Giants first scoring drive and Eli ripping us wide open to score again getting hte ball deep in his own territory with :47 left in the first half. 14-14 after Dallas had dominated in every way.

Such a fucked up game, like years of curses piling up and biting Dallas in the ass.

Why do people always assume this was a sure touchdown? Hell, Murray's fumble in Green Bay looked like it had a better chance of scoring.

Not a TD, but a sure conversion on a drive where the offense was starting to dominate. Then we had two successive penalties on the OL, one of them insanely stupid on Leonard David each after Romo had converted the down. We followed with the worst punt and coverage of the entire season giving the Giants great field position.

Totally and improbably choked that game away to a much weaker team.

Romo also had a very costly intentional grounding penalty called on him

A shame cuz one of the most beautiful offensive drives that season was at end of the half...then we give up the fucking equalizing TD seconds later.

Which was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. I'm not a blame the refs guy but that was awful.

And I remember well the earlier Crayton drop booze was talking about. I blame Aikman who claimed it would've been a TD when in fact Crayton would've made maybe 10 or 15 more yards. Crayton was so slow he could barely outrun me back then (and that's almost literally true).

I do not agree that Dak would be criticized for that placement. That placement was not great but way better than the placement Dak often gets criticized for, which requires receivers to contort their bodies or stop their motion. Neither really happened on that Crayton pass, it was just a little low.

Still, at the same time, Romo was not good in that game and it lent to his history of choking in the playoffs, and was one of the reasons why I advocated for Leinart/Quinn to push Romo.

That's not my logic.

Also, I thought we were supposed to have a thread set aside for this? Maybe keep it there instead of trying to bring it into other threads.

Leinart or Quinn eh?
