2020 Draft Weekend Chatter Thread...

Anyways.....I'm happy with the first round. I'm making me a big bowl of ice cream and then going to bed. Fuck you all :lol

You don't like ice cream? How un-American can you be? Fucking commie

We carry 12 or 13 different ice cream flavors at our place and I can count on one hand the times I’ve eaten ice cream the last two+ years.

It just doesn’t do anything for me.

I'm in Texas and get Bluebell, if you had quality like we got you would understand

I was probably the biggest Chaisson proponent on the board but in my mind there was no question that Lamb was the best WR in the draft and a borderline top 10 prospect, and while it would've taken a hell of alot of value for me to pass up Chaisson at 17, Lamb was that value.

He can win on the outside, can play in the slot, has the size you want, physical at the catch point, good route runner, amazing ball skills/run after the catch, and there's honestly no explanation for him being available at 17.

Last year Cobb played 64% of the snaps, Cooper/Gallup/Witten all played 75%. Lamb will take those Witten snaps and from here on out we are an 11 personnel offense. There is literally no secondary in the league who can cover Cooper/Gallup/Lamb and it's up to McCarthy/Moore to scheme up plays that attack the weaknesses of opposing defenses, Prescott to find those mismatches/deliver the ball, and the OL to give him enough time to find them.

And then when the defense is worn out and playing 7 in the box, Elliott smashes.

Anyone listening to the press conference? My God, McCarthy is such a breath of fresh air compared to that red headed mannequin. It's weird after almost a decade to hear a coach who doesn't just speak in cliches. McCarthy truly sounds dedicated to taking the bpa and figuring out the details later.

My best friend is an Eagles fan (don’t judge me; fuck you) and is PISSED that we drafted Lamb. All I did was laugh as he went on a profanity laced tirade because he wanted the Eagles to draft him.

I would’ve posted it earlier but I was too drunk to type. I’m a little better now.

Based on pretty much all media reports they were enamored with Lamb, and I honestly think they were a bit perplexed that Lamb fell as far as he did and that we ended up taking him.

The Reagor pick was a reach, and while it's a good fit conceptually it definitely feels like a big time reach.

Better players on the board. But we'll see. Reagor is coming into a good spot with an accurate quarterback.

Yes, and they were 4 picks away from getting the best WR in the draft, so that's something. Reagor will help them but the Eagles drafting him doesn't scare anyone, he's a nice player, but not someone who is going to dominate.

I'll put it this way, I would've been very happy with him at 51 but I wouldn't have looked to trade up for him.

So day 2. Here are the players I think could help us. I highlighted my favs. I sure hope a ton of WRs go in the second. This draft is absolutely stacked with them.
  1. Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
  2. Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State
  3. Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
  4. Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
  5. Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama
  6. Josh Jones, OT, Houston
  7. Ross Blacklock, DT TCU
  8. Grant Delpit, S LSU
  9. Marlon Davidson, DE
  10. Cole Kmet, TE Notre Dame
  11. Justin Madubuike, DT Texas A&M
  12. A.J. Epenesa, DL, Iowa
  13. Antoine Winfield Jr., S Minnesota
  14. Neville Gallimore, DT Oklahoma
  15. Jaylon Johnson, CB Utah
  16. Ashtyn Davis, S California
  17. Kyle Dugger, S Lenoir-Rhyne
  18. Lloyd Cushenberry III, C LSU
  19. Adam Trautman, TE Dayton
  20. Jordan Elliott, DT Missouri
  21. Logan Wilson, ILB Wyoming
  22. Zack Baun, OLB Wisconsin

Coincidence that last time we drafted a 1st round WR (Dez), so did the Broncos (Demaryius Thomas)

Now the Broncos get Jeudy while we pickup Lamb

I gotta be honest, I like Jeudy more.

Good thing I don’t know shit about football.

Well we didn't have a choice between them so comparing the two will only be an issue for the Broncos fans. Kind of like comparing Goff, Wentz and Dak. We didn't have a choice with the first two and kind of lucked into Dak as plan D anyway.

I swear to God. Steve Smith with the commentary of the night. Speaking about the 6 WRS taken in the 1st round;

“You know, these young men at some point this season are going to have to deal with adversity because you know, they never really played in the nfl and the nfl has never seen them.”

Brilliant commentary.
