Can anyone look at this article and tell me what and why they have the cotton bowl entrees some times in the Cotton bowl on the 30th and also in the Alamo bowl on the 29th. I thought I was maybe having a brain fart or something but this article the way it’s presented has somehow made themselves look silly or I’m not awake yet.

It appears to just be some sloppy copy/paste work on someone's part.

Florida's top 4 receiving threats have opted out of the Cotton Bowl. Takes a lot of luster off of the matchup.

Tylan Wallace pulled a Vontae Davis and opted out of Oklahoma State's bowl game at halftime.

Wallace probably has a 2nd/3rd round grade as a WR in the upcoming draft.

So he played the first half and then opted out???

Yep.

Miami QB D'Eriq King suffered a leg/knee injury in the 1st half so maybe that spooked him. Wallace tore his ACL last year too so it wouldn't surprise me if that were the case.

this annoys me so bad

Was it Fournette and Christian McCaffery who started this opt out trend back in 2016/2017?

I don't remember any players opting out of bowl games before those two did it a few years back. It was understandable for those two high-use RBs to opt out, but now it seems like most guys with1st - 3rd round grades are going that route.

Same with me. Every year it gets harder to relate to these younger athletes.

I don't get why these players don't feel pressure to compete and show off for NFL teams. It's like players opting out of the Senior Bowl who aren't high first rounders. Why not go out and show off? I want nothing to do with a player who would quit in the middle of a game. It's not about loving the game, it's purely about money. You can't survive in the NFL with players only motivated by money.

Okay, so now they're saying the plan all along was for him to only play a half. That's still weird, IMO, but at least he didn't blindside them by quitting at halftime.

I'm calling bullshit

Great start for the Sooners.

Hopefully I can make it through this game without a single reference or replay of the Statue of Liberty Play.
