I noticed that in the original post, but chevy was pointing out how he'd rather see Butler ahead of Williams on the depth chart which would suggest that Garrett's tough talk of holding people accountable would have to actually be true in order for that to happen.

And we all know that he only applies that faux toughness when it comes to nobodies.

Terrence Williams has played a HUGE role in this team losing it's last couple of game. He's literally made backbreaking mistakes in back to back games and he adds very little to the passing game, so you can't even make the 'the good outweighs the bad' argument with him. What the hell does it take to lose playing time in Dallas? As you mentioned it seems like only the very bottom of the roster guys are held accountable. Pretty sad that they're coddling middle of the roster JAGs like Williams.

Absolutely.

It's hard to have a more negative impact in such a short amount of time than Williams has.

We've played 5 games and yet he's had plays in 3 of them that contributed to us losing.

If anyone should be demoted, it's him. It's not like he's this great player either. He's a solid starter at best with bouts of inconsistency. So if anyone were primed to be demoted for his poor play, it's that guy.

But as usual, the Cowboys don't hold anyone that isn't a minimal role player accountable, so his job is safe.

Yeah. I have already given my assessment on him more than once so I will just ditto yours.

2018 draft to be in Dallas.

If this season continues to fall apart, I may have to attend.

Can't wait to be there live to see us take that risk on an injured player or draft that workout warrior with little production, aye?

You hit the nail on the head. Garrett's RKGs are always the wrong ones when it comes down to it.

Between him and Xavier Woods I think we killed it with some secondary picks. I still think Chido will be good too once we get him past this hamstring shit.

Mailbag: Randy Gregory Update? Re-Signing DeMarcus Lawrence?

Will we see Randy Gregory in a Dallas uniform or any other uniform after his suspension is served?

Bryan: Gregory can ask for reinstatement on Nov. 6t of this season. I have been told that the front office is keeping tabs on his situation. I have also been told that he has made some serious life-changing decisions for the good. I don’t know if he’ll ever end up back with the club or in the NFL, but it sounded like he’s trying.
David: It still feels pretty early to speculate about Randy’s future. We know he can apply for reinstatement soon, but he can’t come back to the organization until January at the earliest. The biggest thing for me is that he’s not costing you a roster spot and you don’t have to pay him right now. Hopefully, he can turn things around. But it’s not hurting the Cowboys to hold on to that hope.

Good to know.

Good to know.

Yeah, just thought it was interesting to see an update. Especially since I wasn't sure of the exact date he could start the reinstatement process.

I hope he really did change his life drastically. I don't know if I will ever fully trust him but I hate to see a young guy like that's career ruined over something as silly as weed.

Yeah, his upside here is probably situational pass rusher, if he can even get there. Probably can't ever count on him as a 12 sack Pro Bowler type.

So which is it, Nov. 9 or January?

Well you apply for reinstatement and then are allowed to practice for a period of time if granted reinstatement before you actually are able to play. Or at least I believe that is how it works.

Yeah at this point I just want to toss as much talent at DE as possible and hope to hit on a couple great DEs. I'm certainly not counting on Gregory but I also am all for throwing his talent into the mix if I can.

He can apply for reinstatement on Nov 9th, but can't rejoin a team until after the season is over.
