2017 Mock Drafts

He would just be kind of a meh pick for me in the third.

Yeah I loved him in college and his speed was never a problem at Iowa. But the NFL is a different beast and his long speed worries me a little there.

The guy is an awesome returner though. Great with the ball in his hands. I'd use him in the slot as a corner and as our primary return man. That would be his bread and butter here.

Casserly's latest has us taking Kevin King with Charlton and Watt still on the board.

I like King but his height does worry me. It's just rare to see a corner with his kind of height having the quick twitch change of direction ability you need to play corner. King would be perfect in a Seattle Seahawk's Cover 3 defense but I'm not sure how well he fits into what we do.

We run alot of Cover-3.

We run alot of Cover-3.

We run some cover-3 stuff. But we also run a ton of man coverage. The nice thing we have seen in Dallas is that they aren't afraid to change coverage's based on their DB's skillset. I mean Marinelli came from a cover 2 background and yet we really don't run that much cover 2 stuff anymore.

Have you guys seen this site:

You can run your own mock draft in about 5 minutes. Pretty fun. Here's what I came up with:

28: R1P28 EDGE TACO CHARLTON MICHIGAN
60: R2P28 CB ADOREE' JACKSON USC
92: R3P28 C PAT ELFLEIN OHIO STATE
133: R4P26 S TEDRIC THOMPSON COLORADO
211: R6P27 EDGE DEATRICH WISE JR. ARKANSAS
228: R7P10 WR JALEN ROBINETTE AIR FORCE
246: R7P28 DL RALPH GREEN III INDIANA

The last two I just ran out of patience and picked the highest rated guy. Pretty happy with the first four picks. You get your edge rusher, corner, safety and a guard so that you can kick Collins out to RT.

That site is fun. I also played with it last year too. It can be super inaccurate though.

28: R1P28 EDGE CHARLES HARRIS MISSOURI
60: R2P28 CB FABIAN MOREAU UCLA
92: R3P28 S MARCUS MAYE FLORIDA
133: R4P26 TE GEORGE KITTLE IOWA

Ran a quick 4 rounder. I'd be pretty happy with this

~solemnly nods~

I'll allow it.

What are people's thoughts on him? I see good reviews but I've never seen him play. Seems like he or Harris will be our best chance in the 1st round.

Charlton is a left end in a 4-3 and probably never a consistent 10-sack guy. There are worse things in the world, though, than to get a Greg Ellis type solid player at the end of the first round, especially when you have at least one player (DeMarcus Lawrence) and possibly a second (Randy Gregory) capable of being 10-sack guys on the right side, if they ever get their acts together. We need ends.... and since Lawrence (and Irving, and Crawford) can play left end, I would PREFER to get a stud right end. But there is more than one way to skin that cat.

I like it. Would prefer a different TE there, though, or to just go away from TE in general.

Best one yet, but I highly doubt Maye makes it to our third rounder.

Love it... though I don't know who Jerry Ogokwe is.

Desmond King in the third would be very good value.

Not to me he wouldn't be. He is going to end up being a career STer is my guess.

You are selling him a little short.

Maybe, but people are trying to project him to S because they don't think he was handle coverage at CB at the next level. He lacks long speed, so it's not a stretch to think he might end up being a STer for some team. Nothing against the guy, but I just wouldn't take the risk in the third.

Is this the Will Fuller thing all over again? Don't like the guy as a first rounder so all of a sudden he's undraftable?
