2017 Mock Drafts

Easterling's latest has us trading from 28 to 41, picking up a 3rd and taking...

41. Carl Lawson EDGE
60. Justin Evans S
73. Carlos Henderson WR
92. Howard Wilson CB

I'd be pretty OK with this, who else was available?

Pretty good, not great but I'd be content with that.

Taco didn't go until 46. Mckinley went right before Lawson.

Tre'davious White went after Evans in the second.

We could have hit a homerun with that trade down. But it seems like that draft was only a single given who was available.

So Taco Mckinley and Harris are not all consensus 1st round guys?

And why is Barrett showing up available to us at 28 so often these days?

Pet cats bolded...

That's not the only one I have seen with Barrett available.

I assume you mean Barnett?

I always thought he could tumble on draft day due to his Combine testing and lack of length/explosiveness, but these mock drafts aren't an indication of much of anything.

It'd take me all of about 2.7 seconds to turn in the card with his name though.

Have not been keeping up just wondered if it was a trend.

How long before the draft anyway?

It's going to be glorious when we pass on Barnett for the same reasons as Floyd and the accompanying board meltdown.:lol

Now if he doesn't get many in person visits I'd consider that a pretty strong indicator that he could fall. It seems to happen every year. A bunch of prognosticators have a guy going in the top 10. None of the top 10 work the guy out and lower teams don't bother thinking he won't be available. And then suddenly he tumbles. I'd be curious to see what workouts Barnett has lined up.

But for comparisons sake Casserly's mock on March 28th has Barnett going 9th overall.

If we do we do but I doubt it's because of the same reason as Floyd. We don't tend to use that language when talking about DE's. Or at least I haven't noticed it as much. Especially when we use guys like Crawford, Irving and other bigger slower DEs out there. But if Barnett is available and we pass on him it won't be the first time we passed on a player I really liked and it won't be the last. Especially if we pass on him for a DE like Taco, Harris, or Mckinley.

I've come away from each of our last several drafts a little underwhelmed. And yet in retrospect we've drafted pretty well. This year I'm going to try to be more open minded.
