Yeah they are swapping so many picks I couldn't keep track. I guess the third that went to the Saints was the extra third they had from the Collins trade. The Pats still have a ton of picks but man it would be painful having to watch the draft knowing you don't have a pick until the third.

In our case, our crack staff not only ruined it with having our first pick be in the 3rd round, but then brilliantly decide that the entire draft would be dedicated to backups and special teams players.

If what people are saying about the depth of this draft, I would actually prefer multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd. That is the meat of this draft.

Belichick probably feels the same way.

Yeah, the extra third is definitely a good thing. The fourth round may be a little too late for some of that. But yeah, this draft is going to have guys going in the third round who most years may be going in the second. Hell you'll see second round corners who any other year would be first rounders. Which means some real talent is going to slip and slide through the cracks. There are only so many teams that will draft a certain position high in the draft. So if the supply exceeds that guys are just naturally going to fall for no good reason.

The Jags keep reminding me of the Johnny Cash song where he keeps stealing car parts, and makes a mismatched jalopy.

They keep getting top picks and top FAs but never seem to coalesce into a team.

They were proposing that exact scenario on NFL Network Friday and it makes perfect sense. Terrible Bortles is holding back an otherwise decent roster that Romo might finally get into the playoffs in that weak division. Jerry should be on the phone with Khan selling it whether Romo likes it or not.
