Yeah, I'm not sure why it went from a player for player trade to basically two separate trades for seventh round picks. But these are both guys I'm assuming were going to be cut any day. Don't think either one has much value.
Probably the contracts. Pretty much controlled waivers.
Does trading a guy for a draft pick change that? You still eat your own guys bonus. And you still take on the base salary of the other teams player.
Thomas restructured his deal for the trade, so I'm assuming that made it easier to deal him.

Pretty crazy a player not only going to the team he is traded to but also restructuring his contract in the process. He didn't even give the Jags a list of teams he'd be willing to be traded to.
