Well it would have probably been different with either Stidham or Russell in there for Baylor.

Of course it would have. They had a RB playing QB at the end there and then put in some other guy who they thought had a strong enough arm to throw it 50 yards.

Yes. When the conference lost several teams to other conferences a few years ago it left them short for enough teams to seperate into divisions. They used to have a championship game when other conferences like the Big 10 and Pac 12 didn't.

The underlying factor for most is that with the current number everyone plays everyone so if there is a conference champion at the end of the season it is essentially the same result. So far most AD's and Coaches feel the same about it. At the same time they also feel if they expand the team's further they will entertain the conference championship game again.
