Are the tickets cheap?

Compared to teams like Texas and OU, I'd have to say yes.

The Baylor games that I used to attend were very affordable. I'd get great 50 yard line seats for about $30 a piece. This was during the RGIII/Bryce Petty years not the crappy years.

I'm not sure what the prices are like at the new stadium that opened last year. [MENTION=28]Rev[/MENTION] may have an idea.

Havent been to a college game at the new Baylor stadium. Just a high school playoff game. Waiting to see if the Tech and Baylor game ever leaves Jerry World and go back to a home and home.

I think Baylor has the most returning starters and Seth Russell has had playing time the last two seasons. I'm assuming you are talking about the QB but I think Baylor is only losing 4 starters from 22. That Baylor/TCU game should be a good one though and one I wished I could go see. A lot of bad blood between those programs.

I will be working traffic for that game but you can bet I get inside to see some of it!

That's sort of the point. They have a 44k capacity and it takes a good team coming to town to fill their mediocre sized stadium. They reside in a major metro area, have won major bowls, have a really good team and still can't get people to their stadium for games. You have all of that going for you and can't sell out unless there is a good team in town? That is the definition very poor fan support.

Having said that, our crappy team does nothing but increase attendance and we haven't won jack.

Tech gets great fan support because there is literally nothing to do in that town but going to TTU sporting events or sitting at home getting wasted and watching Adventure Time.

I spent a few Saturdays in Jones Stadium in the 1960 season. It was the first year of their stadium renovation program. The field was dug below street level and most of the parking was dirt.

When you consider that TCU is basically a 10000 student mostly female private college, they do pretty damn good. The mere fact they are anywhere near the top 5 in the past few years is a testament to the program and Coach Patterson. Why that dude hasn't gone somewhere else for bigger bucks is beyond me but I love his loyalty to the city and the school.

The mere fact they are anywhere near the top 5 in the past few years is a testament to the program and Coach Patterson. Why that dude hasn't gone somewhere else for bigger bucks is beyond me but I love his loyalty to the city and the school.

Yes they have a really good team. But the topic was that they often have empty seats. Which is true.

That makes watching them in the stadium suck imo.

Wow. Thanks for posting that. I would check the progress every week as I trekked back and forth to the base. Memory serves me that we lived on Avenue S. I would buy tickets at the base but it was in the student section. When it rained you could plan on getting stuck in the parking area but there were always a lot of folks that would help push you out.

If you were near the stadium, Ave S would be about right. In that picture University Avenue is to the left (east). You can see Gordon/Bledsoe/Sneed residence halls in the upper right as well. One of the first dedicated dorms on campus.

I appreciate the offer but other than that one season this was my exposure to Tech. It was the senior year of EJ Holub and other Southwest conference notables like Jerry Mayes, Ronnie Bull,Don Trull and others I can't remember. Jerry Mayes cousin was my C.O. at the previous base I was on. Thanks again.
