Hell no. As much as you have Cardinal fans in your family, I have a brother that is a UT fan. I hope they get stomped by TCU.

As a matter of long standing rivalry precident I cannot support the Orange cows in this game. If they are engaged with a non conference opponent then yes I can fall in line with that.
 
Early reports that Chad Morris will be the new HC at SMU. Im surprised if true.
 
I think SMU eventually gets into the Big 12...they have the money and have the market. Very attractive for a conference.

Feh. Their market is already added through UT and TCU. They add nothing but an extra doormat and an elitist attitude.

Big 12 needs to get to a conference championship game. SMU and BYU to the Big 12. SMU is a legit option for the Big 12...makes sense...the doormat thing means nothing.

They do need that game, but they add teams that make sense from a $ perspective to do so. BYU is a choice but they seem to change their mind daily on whether they want a conference affiliation.

Cincy, UCF and USF are their best options. Opens new markets for TV, recruiting grounds and gives east coast travel buddies for WV which they've begged for.

Actually other than geography, SMU makes no sense at all for the Big 12. Their stadium is new but very small, they have small attendance and crowd following to other locations, the program is in shambles and they are difficult to access for out of town folks. That's just a few thing none of which even touches on recruiting competition.

They make a ton of sense to the Big 12. Their stadium holds 32K, but that school is loaded...not sure why stadium size would be an issue anyways. Pointing out how the program is down now is very short sighted. It just takes the right hire...like their hoops hire of Brown.

They bring nothing to the table. The only one to benefit from it would be SMU. They are a liability even if they improve their program. They would share in revenues but would generate virtually nothing. They are not structured for major conference participation because they have nothing to offer.

You are exaggerating in a big way. Being directly in the Dallas market is a big hell and they have the money to draw a big name coach...who would come if they were in the Big 12. Mack Brown had interest in the job and now a top flight asst in Morris is interested.

Maybe they are not added...no big deal, but they are a viable candidate.

If they were the only game in Dallas, I would agree. But there are about 4 schools that split that market and they are dead last in relevance amongst them. The Big 12 will expand to places that will give them a big boost in viewership to their games. SMU can't do that.

And yes, stadium size does matter.
