Escobar won't be able to get on the field any more than Fasano could. We always talk about a 2 TE offense but we never actually run one.

I think that was Jerry's point yesterday. He wants the offense to utilize high draft picks like TE's instead of wasting them.

at the expense of making our offense inept. we are going to force the two TE system in our offense and chances are it screws everything up

lol. Speed, not quickness. Witten separates in the open field. His stride just outpaces linebackers and his body is too huge for DB's. Those classic mismatches have been his bread and butter. But they get negated somewhat in the redzone since there's less room for him to stride. He also can't jump for shit. He has good hands, but he's not known for making tough, contested catches. His other abilities to get open make this somewhat unnecessary.

Escobar can jump and his hands are very good. I see him catching fade patterns and jump balls, kind of the opposite of Witten, that's all.
 
With Austin, Dez, Witten, Williams, and an emerging Harris in the fold I just don't see Escobar having a significant impact on offense.

Frankly I'll be surprised if he hits 25 receptions on the year. I just don't see it happening.

I know the Cowboys don't understand it, but generally teams use that 2nd round pick on players who are expected to have a significant impact sooner rather than later.

It would help if Escobar were not what amounts to a jacked up WR. Rag on Bennett, but we did miss the blocking element he was pretty good at last year.

Question to Broaddus: So we had Frederick rated higher than Cyprien/Elam? Or did we just reach for the highest OL on board?
Answer: Elam not on board and yes on center.

Interesting we don't have Elam on board, which we already heard, but the Ravens took him one pick later. Also confirmed, in his opinion, that we reached for Frederick rather than take better player, Cyprien.
