I like Frederick but we reached to get him. He had a third round grade.

It depends on who you read the info from. A lot of folks had him as a 2nd rounder, so it's not a bad pick at all. Especially given the weird run on o-linemen.

After watching that f'd up first round, I'm not upset over with who we got. Unless something crazy happens, he should be our day one starter at center. Or possibly even at guard.

Oh well, on to round two.

I think he'll be a good center too. Not an All-Pro maybe, but a rock steady long term starter, hopefully.

Not doing backflips but I am glad to see the OL is getting help.

When you have the biggest retard in all of sports making your picks you don't get the luxury of making value picks. About all you can hope for is somebody that can play regardless if they're taken two rounds too early.

i hate this pick. We had so many obvious choices that we missed. I'm slowly getting sick of this team

Wahhh Non-scouts think he's a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Boo hoo

very nice player, huge need, you all will be sucking his crank when he blows up London Fletcher in the run game.

Definitely not an impact player for the first round.

Well.... yes and no.

On the other hand, nothing will impact this team more than getting a competent OL.

If we follow this up with another OL or two, it's actually a great outcome.

Grades on him are 2nd and high 3rd mostly citing he's slow as shit and ran a terrible 40 at combine. WGAS how fast our center is? Only thing is we could've got him with our second probably.

We will see. I think it was a stupid pick.

Subpar sprint time drops draft stock for UW's Travis Frederick

Wisconsin's Travis Frederick is going to become the slowest center drafted by a National Football League team in 20 years.

As the saying goes, the farther Frederick goes, the worse he looks. His new employer almost can forget about him ranging far afield on screens, knocking defenders off piles downfield, coming across the field on a reverse or recovering a fumble close to the boundary.

That became apparent Feb. 23 when Frederick lurched down the FieldTurf surface at the combine in a pair of 40-yard dashes clocked at 5.56 seconds.

"I thought he'd run at least 5.4," an executive in personnel said. "He's not a good athlete on tape, but I didn't think he'd run 5.6."

To think Frederick dropped an estimated 20 pounds in seven weeks and still looked awful caused some but certainly not all teams that liked him to reevaluate.

"Yes, the workout did expose him," said an AFC personnel man. "His feet are so (expletive) slow. He's beginning to scare me the more I watch him. Before, I had him 25 to 40. There's no way he goes first round now."
