I think what is more shocking to me is how he just lost all of his balance.

I can see losing his burst and speed, but the guy just struggles to stay on his feet even when he's simply just trying to make a cut in the open field.

In his final years, Emmitt was about as slow as I've ever seen a RB, but he never lost his initial burst and more importantly, the guy could break tackles and kept his balance all the way till the very end.

About the only thing Zeke has left is just pure strength, and that's why he can still get that 1 or 2 yards that you need because he's still a strong guy who finds a way to always fall forward.

But outside of that? The guy is absolutely finished and I would hate to see him come back to Dallas because I know these morons will think he is still an asset and won't address the RB position as they should in the offseason.

We threw away Emmitt at the end. Witten played for the Raiders. When a guy is done he is done. Just move on. I don't want to keep Zeke around as a mascot.

I prefer this over giving a long term deal. Sort of like Schultz, at least we aren't locked into paying the guy 13-15 mil annually for the next few years. I'd rather buy a year to get a rookie up to speed and then lose Pollard a year from now and have a cheap backfield.
