Who? Bland?

Even if he is the "starter" on the boundary we're going to have to play 3 CB's at least like 70% of the time unless we want to trust one of the safeties to play as something of a pseudo-slot CB.

Joseph is going to be a problem for us going into the playoffs, he was part of Quinn's first draft class though so hopefully he can squeeze something out of him now that he's basically going to be starting.

We have Kendall Sheffield on the PS who started a good amount of games in Atlanta when Quinn was there. Of course those defenses were mostly shit but it'll have to do.

I don't think there are any "name" guys out there.
 
Kevin King is available. And if Quinn wants some nostalgia, Desmond Trufant.
 
Generally speaking I really like the direction of the team, especially since the NFC should be pretty shit again next year and we'll bring back the vast majority of the roster.

With that said, I don't see us making a run all the way to the Super Bowl this year. We might be able to make the NFCC but it's just extremely hard for me to imagine us winning 3-4 straight playoff games given how flat we've come out in these last two games against inferior opponents.

We give up way too many "leaky" rushing yards due to a lack of physicality in between the tackles, way too many runs that should go for only 2-3 yards go for 4-5 as the pile gets pushed. It may not seem like a lot but there's a big difference between 2nd and 8 vs. 2nd and 5, or 3rd and 6 vs. 3rd and 3.

It just sucks that the Eagles biggest strength matches up so well with our primary weakness, and they seem to be having one of those years where everything falls into place in terms of no injuries, their roster being maxed out in terms of impending FA's who will be gone next year, and Hurts having what will almost assuredly end up being the best season of his career.

That’s the issue with this team though. It’s been “next year” for 27 years, with ownership that doesn’t value the trenches, and signs cheap FA’s to complement their draft picks. Obviously, the methodology doesn’t work since we haven’t won shit in almost 3 decades.
I’m of the belief we will only win a SB if something fluky happens to get us there. We aren’t going because of the GM actually building a SB team.

I don’t see the logic in even thinking about next year. Teams change a lot year to year, this years darling is usually next years bum.

I think this is the first time in a long time that we’ve went to the playoffs in consecutive years. I think it was 2006 & 2007 the last time they went back to back playoff appearances.

Supposing we and the remaining favorites win, then it's at Philly, which let's face it is the toughest draw.

5 at 3
Then, if we win that we are likely at San Francisco for the NFCC.

Basically we have to beat the worst possible draw, and play all road games.

And then the Chiefs or Bills in the Superbowl.

Unless the Commanders or Giants can pull off the upset one more time vs the Eagles (and we also win every game including them), then it's the reverse situation where we might even gain a bye.

Yep. This is exactly why I praised the Eagles offseason. Instead of sitting on their ass and playing it safe during the offseason, they swung for the fences in order to build on their 2021 playoff season. So far it's paying off.

In this new age of football I don't think you can just sit back and solely build through the draft. If you think you have a roster capable of competing for a Super Bowl it's probably best to go all in for a year or two to see if you can get over the hump.
