I actually think he can beat Trump. He brings a lot more substance.

My only concern is if Trump lost the primary, he would likely tell people not to vote much like he did in GA which cost us the senate.

I’m conservative as I can be but I just don’t get these Trump people who worship the man.

Yeah Trump discouraging voters for his narcissism and losing us the senate really pissed me off
 
Trump is for sure running and he’ll easily get the nomination, imo.

I’m not exactly excited to see he and DeSantis go at each other’s throats, but that could be a possibility unless Trump and he make nice and Trump agreed to endorse during the next cycle and campaign for him, if that ends up being a positive.

I could see the Democrats bringing some type of charges against Trump to prevent this. He terrifies them.

Haven't they tried that like 45 times? 2 impeachments, house being raided, etc?
 
Democrats can bring all the charges they want, the only charge that would prevent Trump from running is an indictment. If they indict him after he announces, they better have an airtight case against him.

I hope they do. That would be our best case scenario. Gets Trump on the sideline and gives DeSantis a clear path

I catch shit for this take but I believe Trump has served his purpose. He gave the party the kick in the ass it needed and showed that the culture mattered. Now he just needs to sit this out.

Yep.

I was surprised in a good way when I heard Selena Zito, who is a sort of on-the-ground reporter who specializes in Pennsylvania, asked what voters were telling her about Trump, and she said most appreciate what he did but wished he would sit out now and let DeSantis take the reins. The radio hosts were kind of stunned by that, but a lot of us seem to feel that way.

I'm about 85% sure they will do this, only they won't have anything close to an airtight case.

But they won't care, they'll still be able to claim he was indicted, which is all they care about.

Or, they do it in a district that hates him so much the jury would convict him anyway because, you know, he's Hitler only more evil.

The game they are playing is very dangerous. They are setting precedents they don't even realize could hurt them greatly in the future.
