I always thought Pickett was the top QB in this draft. Not saying a lot in this class but he actually is a pretty good QB. Just doesn't have an elite anything. But he good at a lot of stuff.
Same here. But Kiper and the other three ESPN draft experts all have Malik Willis as the #1 QB in the draft class.

I actually have seen some with Corral, Pickett and then Willis. I'm not sure why Corral should be tops. And Willis, he just seems so raw and short. I just don't see it. If he wasn't a great runner we wouldn't even talk about him.

They probably believe under the right circumstances that Willis can iron out his passing issues similar to what we've seen with Josh Allen.

Willis has had the Senior Bowl push. Kiper and McShay etc., are behind the curve.

Yeah and I get that but Josh Allen is 6'5". Willis is what, 6 even? Which I think can be overlooked for an elite passer. But Willis has arm strength but he is a very erratic looking passer to me. In the third, fourth I get it. But first? Eh yikes.

Pickett though to me his floor is like Daniel Jones to me? That's probably not a compliment but I think it's a fair comp. He is a pretty damn good athlete. Not great arm but good arm strength. Throws really well on the run. Mostly concerned about ball security when being hit (Like Daniel Jones).

Corral looks gimmicky to me but I could be wrong. Sort of like Howell.

Saw the Cowboys Pats game on the guide for NFLN last night so I turned it on, but instead they had a Pro Day show on Willis' workout. The studio guys were positively gushing. Seemed over the top.

Willis is going to be pure shit unless he has a miraculous development curve similar to Josh Allen in Buffalo, which is rare obviously.

He can't read the field for shit, gets antsy in the pocket, footwork is all over the place, and while he has really good speed for a QB, it's not generational/historic speed like a Lamar Jackson to where he can completely tilt the field.

He also looked for contact a bit too much in college, which is a habit that will end an NFL career quick.

But he has a cannon ... and certain teams are desperate at that position ... and if he sits for a year behind Trubisky ...

That's basically what I said, although I don't know how strong it really is outside of Young.

I don't know but I read a piece about the Ohio State pro day and it was basically gushing about CJ Stroud who was throwing to Wilson or Olave at the pro day. I guess he looked really good. I think CJ Stroud is going to be in that conversation as well. Go figure a Alabama kid and an Ohio State kid. They are throwing to receiving corps that could basically start in the NFL. I mean Wilson, Olave, Williams and Metchie will all go in the first 2 rounds of the draft and their backups are probably future first round picks too. Hell Jaxon Smith-Njigba may be better than Olave and Wilson and that is no knock on either of those guys.

In the end there is a reason why 1/4 of the NFL hasn't even bothered to have a first round pick in this draft. Plenty of teams saw this coming as a weaker draft at the top and they valued it accordingly.

Which reminds me, of all the talent from Georgia this draft their two best defensive players aren't even in this draft. I think Jalen Carter and Will Anderson would be ranked higher than any of their defenders in this draft. Anderson may be the best pass rusher in next years draft and Jalen Carter is going to be a high first round DT. Or at least that's what it looks like right now.

I would be killing somebody we drafted like he says.

Could be worse, you could be the Lions taking Willis #2 in the draft. Now that is fucking awful.

But yeah outside of Dean I was left looking up the names going who is that? And I'll be honest I'm not real big on Dean or frankly a LBer in the first two rounds. Dean is undersized and it sort of freaks me out that he is scared to run a 40 yard dash. I'd love him on my team but he makes me uncomfortable as a first round pick. I think he will be good but if I'm taking a LBer in the first I want special and I don't know that he will be special. All the other picks I scratched me head as to who the hell they are except Alec Pierce in the fourth who I would be jumping with joy over. That dude is my pet cat. 6'3" with a 4.41 forty and was a very productive WR in college. I also think his separation skills are pretty good. If he lasts until the fourth I'd be surprised. I really liked him before he even ran a stellar forty.

It's not good when I'm looking up the second and third round draft picks names on draft day wondering who they are.

Yea I know Stroud is the other top prospect but I don't fully trust him, he seems pretty stationary in the pocket and as you said, he was throwing to 3 first round picks. There's also the fact that Haskins looked like a top 5 pick in that offense, Stroud isn't an immature moron like him but stylistically he seems similar.

Will Anderson is actually from Alabama and will probably be the first non-QB taken. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he went 2ns behind Young.
