I've seen Davis chase down ballcarriers all the way to the sideline, doesn't happen every game, but he has the ability and did it a few times last season. It all comes down to whether or not you value a dominant 3-4 NT type who might give you 2-3 sacks a year, but only play maybe ~40 snaps a game, in the 1st round.

Not all do, I personally do, so there you have it.

If those 40 snaps are elite, why wouldn't you do it. Everyone rotates Dlineman. And if a team goes hurry up Davis is far from a turd out there. To me he makes amazing sense. But it seems like the NFL views these types as less important these days. Even though they aren't and everyone is looking for one.

Plus I think Davis has a ton of upside to be more. A dude that tall, that long and that fast can be taught in my opinion to be even more of a pass rusher. But Georgia was so loaded they didn't need to do it. They had other guys to fill those roles who are first round picks or future first round picks.

Watched him in a couple of games. Definitely my OT outside of the 1st round.

The class is pretty much the top 5 with Neal, Ekwonu, Cross, Penning and Raimann, then a crapshoot.

He goes at the top of the next layer, which is Tyler Smith, Faalele and Petit-Frere.

Our second round pick....

If he is there in the second round I'd do it in a heartbeat. I know you're joking but unless it's career threatening you don't think twice on that. I see Randy Gregory type pass rush ability in that kid without the other garbage.

Only partially joking. Unless it is serious ala Jaylon Smith, you take that risk. Just part of thee front office MO

The accounts say they heard a pop around his lower leg area. Does not seem like a knee. Maybe an ankle or Achilles.

I just tore my calf and swear I heard a pop. When I described it to the Dr first concern was Achilles.

Welcome to Dallas, David.

I'm game. Look at Jeffrey Simmons, that's the fall I kind of expect. Someone in the late first will jump on him. Probably PUP and then back after 4 games would be my expectation.

I don't think 24 is really going to happen but I think someone will late first that knows they are getting a top pass rusher that they can use for a playoff run.

He's a big reason why their defense was so strong.

It always starts up front. Those guys help the players to the sides and behind, and it's a chain reaction from there.

Yep and we have all said it but the pressure that bothers QBs the most is pressure up the middle. You don't have to hit the QB but if you can get 6'6" uglies in his face up the middle it makes his job really difficult.

So I know these mocks are kind of a joke but I did one anyway for shits and giggles. I actually really enjoyed having the 4 fifth round picks. Trust me I also get that some of this is very unrealistic, specifically Chris Paul in the fifth. But hey, why not. Allowed me to rebuild the shit out of the O-line.
