2022 Cowboys Free Agency Thread

So, hes a deep threat drafted 60 overall, been in the league for 4 seasons and came fairly cheap. Not too bad.

Yeah I mean he is better than anything we have outside of Gallup and Lamb but we certainly need more at receiver in my opinion. Probably through the draft.

I would think youre right. Washington seems to be a contender for Ced Wilson replacement.

Very much like Cedric Wilson, can make some plays if you need him to fill in but not really what I want in my top 3 dudes. And talented enough to buy a rookie time to get adjusted.

Agree!
Assuming Washington remains on the field when Gallup gets healthy enough to play, it would be nice for Dallas to have two receivers who are considered deep threats, thus opening things up more in the middle for Lamb & Schultz.

It at least gives us the leeway to not have to draft a guy like Burks in the first. I can wait on an Alec Pierce, Shakir, Metchie, Pickens or Watson type in the second round and later. I'm not sure how far or who will fall yet but I can at least afford to wait on the guy who will hopefully fill put our top 3 long term.

I mean if we can get most of a season out of Tank that would be great. Parsons is a terror so the pass rush will still be good but I'd feel a lot better with Gregory back. I guess we will see on Fowler. If you can get 6-8 sacks from him that's a win.

I feel pretty good about Kearse, Wilson and Hooker. I was never a fan of Kazee so I would love to have Muakumua jump into that 4 man rotation. I feel good about that safety group.
the safety group is looking up, I think we need to keep adding talent.

Kearse was our best safety, that much is clear. Of the 3 he is the one I'd make a priority to keep. Kazee I'm good with walking and Hooker I'd keep but not at much of a price.
True. Kearse is one of few viable safety options that the Cowboys have at safety, a position where they have struggled to find quality players. They did retain Hooker, but they could use Kearse too. Losing him in FA, after not really bringing in anybody new & watching Gregory walk away, would be a bitter pill to swallow.

No way does Dak throw into those coverages
The first looked under thrown. The second looked exactly like something Dak would throw. He either waits to long or throws something that the receiver has to try to attack to get to.

Yeah but we can't really afford a safety high in the draft with all our needs right now. We need Dlineman, WRs and Olineman pretty badly.
I would earmark one of our fifths for a safety. That’s where we seem comfortable throwing a shot at it.
I personally don’t like seeing Parsons at End. Unless it is a hybrid motion type. His strength is his ability to move and make plays. I feel he is limited being put in that position and his ability to see the field and react is diminished.

Armstrong, Basham and Golston can absorb the base packages/run downs with Parsons playing more of a traditional LB role, then in nickel/dime and you unleash Parsons.

But what would really bring this all together is adding Wagner as a true impact player in the front 7 who can unlock Parsons to be moved all over no matter the down/distance.
