Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

The Thrill never got enough credit then, let alone now.

Pearson 489 receptions for 7822 yards, 48 TDs
Hill 479 receptions for 7988 yards, 51 TDs

what a great tandem they were.

Steve Pelluer really thought he could strong arm something? I must have not been paying attention then during my Landry grief period.

I totally forgot about Danny and Randy White being caught up in that youth movement.

Such was my love for the Cowboys as a kid that 8 year old me actually pretended to be Steve Pelleuer playing 2 hand touch in the parking lot of the apartments I lived in back then.

Solidly still #4 if picking franchise best WR behind Irvin, Pearson and Bullet.

Or would you put Dez at #4
Tony Hill was infinitely better than Dez Bryant could ever hope to be.

He was very very consistent with what he was asked to do.

He was not some trick shot artist who basically had his on and off days depending on who got into his head that particular Sunday.

Day or play? I do remember his long run for a TD in a hard-ass game for the most part.

You must have went there in person.

He also had 30 yard TD reception where he did all of the work.

13:29. Forget the rushing stats. Forget the TDs. Forget the receiving stats.

This blitz pickup, along with all the rest, is why I will argue that Emmitt was the best all around running back ever. Leveled the blitzer coming thru, then goes back and blocks him AGAIN, allowing Aikman to step up into the pocket, then take off for an 8 yard gain. He did everything at a high level. Beautiful.

Yep, zipping through that game is pretty fun. The O can't score a TD in the first half... Madden zooming in on Troy's bad finger which I thought was going to be the index finger that's bent at like a 30* angle but instead it's his fingernail he got smashed and drilled through (my grandpa did the same thing to mine with his pocket knife, good times)... Curvin Richards getting some snaps before he fell asleep... The Washington hit (as NoDak mentioned) that today would get him suspended but back then nobody batted an eye ... Totally forgot about Kent Graham, he did have a big arm and made a few nice throws... And how good an athlete was Chad Hennings, a DT making a tackle on a kickoff at the 13?
