Fuck race in this situation. It has nothing to do with anything. Howard over reacted with the 'Don't fucking touch me' stuff. Gard didn't look to have aggressive motives when he first placed his hand on Howard's arm. But he should have been smart enough to back off at least by the second time Howard told him not to touch. To continue by that point could only lead to trouble, and it did. So, he's at fault here, too.
