Yeah, that’s why it has to be a true objective take, and not the “credit the initial call 95% of the time” BS. In that recent system refs policed themselves, so of course they made sure the rule never and ultimately ditched.
They don’t need to worry about assessing whether there were other penalties on the play either, just objectively look at the call made (or not made) as challenged. The machinery is different now than it was then,
immediate NY reviews are in place and are here long term now.
Thus is just a natural extension of NY booth reviews at this point.
Use a discerning eye, and don’t act like you are judging your best friend’s (or your own) call. Be as objective as you would be for the replays you already do.
Also it should be in place for any call or non-call. You can challenge 12men on the field, you should be able to challenge anything else
