In my mind Brady is prob the must clutch player to ever play the game. In the back of my mind though I'm thinking how is a 44 year old man still throwing like he's 25? Whats everyone else's take on this? If Father Time is undefeated how is he able to throw the ball with so much velocity at his age? Its not the quick release that has me questioning this. Its the fact that his last year for the Pats he wasn't throwing this well.

Man, it’s gotta be something. How is he able to do what he’s doing at 44 or whatever.

He threw a ball last night 60+ yards. The only reason I don’t think it’s HGH is because his head hasn’t grown twice it’s normal size.

George Blanda was still starting at 48. They are anomalies but not unique. He is a freak about his nutrition and health. For the majority of his career he has not been able to be hit by defenders. Makes it a lot easier to keep playing when you aren’t abusing your body.

He obviously takes care of himself, but I think a huge part is he just never gets hit. If he played in Troy's day, no way he could so this no matter how early he goes to bed or how many vegetables he eats.

I think it's obvious as hell he's taking PEDs. I'm guessing he's been doing it for many years.

I don’t know if it’s the case or not, but say he is. What happens to all his career accomplishments?

Does he get blackballed or an asterisk?

Years ago I would hope for it, I really hated him, but now I recognize his greatness.

I do not think that he is. He appears to not age much at all. That leads me to believe that it is simply genetics.

Not only does he never get hit but defenders are afraid to hit him for the most part because they know the refs will call a penalty. If you hit him the ball better still be in his hand or a flag is coming.

I think the league would do everything in it's power to not let it get out.

I think they saw what happened to baseball and they would rather turn a blind eye to most of this.

If a Merriman type gets caught or whatever that's one thing. They don't want the Brady and Manning types caught.

I dunno. Staubach had one of his best statistical years at age 39--his last year in the league. And that was without a team of nutritionists and personal trainers to help him. It can be done.

He also wasn't playing thru his early years, where most quarterbacks take the most physical punishment. Look at the beatings Aikman took in his first few years. That shit adds up.

Good point.
Brady would have avoided that as we’ll be aide he started on a good team. Most young starters don’t have that.

Also, the pass coverage rules changed just a couple years prior and it was easier to pass in Staubach's last couple years. It stands to reason his numbers would look better.

I think he would have been caught by now if he was.

This is basically what it comes down to, IMO. He's basically the QB version of Emmitt Smith in terms of his ability to avoid big hits. Plus all the NFL rules that have been put in place to protect QBs.

Also, it's not unheard of for elite athletes to invest millions into diet and body maintenance regimes.

It feels like 40 will be the new normal "wear out" age for QBs in the future. 35 years ago that number was probably around 33.

Yeah but there are definitely different rules for different players. ESPN and Goodell have made that quite clear.

Remember when there were legitimate questions about Peyton having HGH delivered to his home. ESPN flat out refused to cover the story and Goodell pretended that it didn't happen. But they have no problem running round-the-clock coverage of similar stories when it involves other players.

That's definitely fair. I really hate the media, both sports and politics.

IMO, the only reason ESPN wasn't all in on the story is because they were trying to recruit Manning to join their network after he retired. So I'm sure the top brass sent word down the chain that all Peyton Manning HGH stories were off limits.
