Hall of Fame - Drew Pearson

Fucking awesome. I loved Pearson— just so damned clutch no matter who the QB

Ten full fricking years after the ROH.

Hopefully he’s healthy and strong when he accepts his jacket. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Roger Staubach introduced him?
 
My mom's favorite player is/was Drew Pearson. I just called her and told her he was finally inducted into the HOF. Her words were the same as mine. "Well, it's about fucking time."

Then she said she'd like to see him walk to the podium during his acceptance speech, give a quick thank you to his teammates, then tell the voters they can kiss his ass. Then just walk off.

She's a little bitter he had to wait this long. :lol

Drew's jersey was the first I ever got, I remember rocking the shit out of it in elementary school

I'm only old enough to have caught the tail end of Staubach's career. And as popular as Tony Dorsett was, Pearson was my first favorite player. He was so damn smooth. He and Tony Hill sure were fun to watch together.

Dorsett was the second jersey I got, and I got it by lawn mowing money so I was proud af of it
 
I never had a jersey from that era but I did have a Roger Staubach iron-on, which was the style at the time.

His SB and NFC championship game stats were paltry. Maybe they held that against him. Didn't help that he had to retire early due to a car accident.

Out of curiosity I looked up the members of the 1970s All-Decade team who aren't in the Hall of Fame.

Out of all the non-specialist players, there were only 5 players not in the Hall. Drew Pearson was one......the other four are LC Greenwood, Harvey Martin, Louis Wright, & Dick Anderson.

If sacks were an official stat in the 1970s, Harvey Martin would be viewed a lot differently.
