Yeah, he misremembering. Garrett was hired before Phillips and was "in the running" for HC.

A few forced turnovers from our suddenly opportunistic defense, a nice fake punt on 4th and 22 from our own 12 yard line that goes for a score, and a couple of Red Rifle long bombs and before you know it, all those teams will wonder what hit them.

Speaking of Wade, years ago when he was still HC in Dallas, some buddies of mine were eating at a Place in Dallas called Hillstone and we were all bitching about another Cowboys choke/loss and collectively ripped into Phillips about it throughout the meal. They have a row of booths on the outside wall that are back to back and we were sitting in one of them.

When we got up to leave, I looked at the booth seat backing up to mine and who do I see sitting there?

Wade himself who had to have heard us ripping him to shreds but I'll guess I'll never know, hopefully he didn't, he seems like a really nice man, just too nice to work for jeri and be the HC of the Cowboys
