Test...

Seriously though, is rock n roll really about the voice?

Some of the greatest voices ever will never make a dime for their talents. A lot of it is about what LT said.
There is a ton of talent but few that can capture one's eyes and ears. When music was essentially a radio show the voice plus talent was important but identity was everything. With the multimedia advent unique appearance became an additional priority. None of this takes in consideration the song itself. It is a stand alone work and is subject to artist interpretation. Finally musical arrangement and presentation dictates who will listen and for how long. Musicality 101

Pearl Jam's first two albums were outstanding (not so much afterwards).

Here is a sample of Vedder on those albums:

FREEziiiing vjchysyskdjehndudnjfkdjdfndjcjdjd. Oh yeahuh.

:lol

I don't necessarily agree with you on Vedder, but that impression is great. I do think his voice fits for certain songs, though. I love Rise.

As an aside, maybe my favorite voice is Chris Cornell.

A good singer uses pitch and melody and rhythm and perhaps most importantly timing (among many other things) to make a song work the way it should. and you can do that regardless of whether your voice is necessarily pleasing in and of itself. It's much more important to be a good singer than have a good voice.

Do y'all remember You Can Be A Star! on TNN?

The Nashville Network, mother humpers!

Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder were magic in Temple of the Dog. Wish they had done more stuff together.

:lol Not a big fan but otherwise true. Creed's first few albums were pretty good, particularly their first.

Pearl Jam back in the day PWDNED Creed 10 times over.

This really sucks.

Iamtdg finally found a loophole around the 1 post every 30 second rule.

Double posting from hot spots FTL.

I vote we abolish testing whilst hotspotting.

All those in favor, post as you normally would.

Those opposed, please tell us how you feel about it twice.

You sonofabitch! I will just post from my phone. HAH!
